Over 150 “Vote No” supporters paraded through Khon Kaen City yesterday as part of their ongoing Northeastern campaign. Representatives from the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and the For Heaven and Earth Party led the crowds on their march.
The campaign slogans might have been written in red, but Saturday night’s United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship rally couldn’t have been any clearer: vote for the blue and white of Pheu Thai.
Nineteen newly elected red shirt committee members, representing each of the Northeastern provinces, led a rally for the first time on Thursday to establish themselves as the movement’s new Isaan representatives.
Over 5,000 Red Shirt supporters from across the Northeast flocked to the provincial capital this Saturday night to raise money for the families of Red Shirts who were imprisoned, wounded or killed as a result of the May 2010 unrest.
