The Isaan Record is an online news source based in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Our team of writers focuses on social and political movements in Northeast Thailand and publishes a handful of stories in English and Thai each month. Job description: The Isaan Record is looking to hire one intern to help contribute to reporting on the Northeast region. The intern will be responsible for conducting research and contributing to fieldwork. The intern will also be encouraged to pitch story ideas and publish articles researched and written independently. It is preferable that the intern also be interested in photojournalism, documentary filmmaking, and/or long form journalism. The position is a great opportunity for people looking for hands-on grassroots journalism focused on local social and political movements. For native English speakers, Thai proficiency is preferable but not required. For native Thai speakers, English proficiency is required. Part-time and full-time positions available.
